Has anyone figured out a way to disable the ABS for track use?

You would probably end up killing power brakes all together. Again, Why would you want to do this!

Since the power brake system is vacuum assited with a vacuum booster I don't see how a missing fuse would have any effect.

Some earlier ABS systems did not have vacuum assist, but instead a small electrical pump that was in use every time the brake pedal was depressed. On that system, it would have been unwise to have disabled it electircally as you would have had no brakes.

As for why someone would want to disconnect the ABS, some highly skilled drivers would rather deal with the possible skidding on their own, without electronic intervention, just as some would rather not have traction assist. Personally, I would rather have the ABS, but some would not.

Sure it's easy.. just pull the fuse on it under the hood. It's the first 7.5 amp next to the 20 amps on the side next to the drivers fender.

Why would you want to do this?? Our cars have problems with locking up the back tires.. (especially if your brakes are in good shape)

We are so front heavy that under braking loads you unload the rear brakes.. and if you try to brake while going into a turn or while in a turn.. the back will lock up and spin around on you. I can't think of a single reason why I would want this to happen. Spinning in a FWD car is not my idea of fast lap times.
