Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums Modifications Brakes ABS Light, likely cause?

I recently started to have my ABS light come on whenever the A/C was on. I searched the other day and found that someone else has a problem with the ABS light comming on with the accessories. What possible connection the A/C has with the ABS is beyond me... but, anyway, whats the most common problem people have with the ABS? (and NO, I don't "spin out" or soak the underside of the car) thanks...

My Contour SE does the same thing. The Ford dealer says it will cost $2700.00 to fix. Parts include the ABS hydraulic control unit and wire harnesses ( about $1000.00 just for the harnesses)
I was told the wire harness issues under the recall do not apply to this problem. I can also get the abs light to set if I pour water along the drivers windshield which is right above the HCU. I keep putting off going under the car and try to water proof that connection. It is hard to even put your hand on the connector.

i used to do ebrake burnouts in my mom's taurus, and that would set off the abs light. then i realized a few months later how bad that is for the car.
