I own a 97 Tour and I'm going to be putting the Ground Control coil-overs on my ride. I know I should be upgrading my struts at the same time. I don't have the money right now to put koni's on my ride. I was looking at the KYB GR-2. Is this a good strut? What will the difference be in the KYB and the Koni? The Koni is so much more and I am wondering if it is really worth the extra money.

I have KYB shocks on my minivan. The Gas-a-just is their premium line. The GR-2 is not quite as good. The KYB shocks are better than Monroe or Gabriel for general upgrading (especially the Gas-a-just line), but not as good as some others.

If I were going to the trouble of putting coil overs on my car, I would put the Koni struts on.

Just MHO laugh

Take care.

Sachs is up there with Bilstein. Good stuff
and not as prohibitive as Koni if I remember
correctly. Also, keep in mind you don't NEED
to get adjustable Konis and could get a less
expensive set of Koni Red instead of Yellow.

I've also been thinking about this... Ground
Controls with BAT sport springs swapped for a
little less minimum drop and a premium sport
valved strut. I'm not after the Eibach drop.
