Hey guys, I just wanted to get your opinion on the Econo's. I've read a few bad things about them, but Eric at BAT told me they sell alot of these things and have very few problems. I pretty much want to hear from you guys any good or bad experiances with the rotors, and also BAT as a company... Thanks for the help. -Nick

I have heard that they're prone to rusting at the hubs.

I'd like to hear some opinions too. I've searched through the forums many times and have only found a few comments on the econo rotors.

I'm desperately in need of new brakes and can't decide whether the extra $$$ is worth premium rotors given the problems I've had with warping in the past.

Well, in case your following this thread... I ordered some Brembo and Autospecialty rotors from SPMotorsports; heres why... I called them to order the Econo's, and Joe (Who I always talk to, and is extremely helpful and knowledgable with the contour) told me that he would sell them to me, but I was required to listen to a little preaching before he would take my order. He explained to me that he has had alot of bad experiances with the Econo's and that they are exactly that, a cheap rotor, in other words, you get what you pay for. He cut a sweet deal with me for front Brembo rotors, and rear Autospecialty's all for $50 each!!! needless to say, I took him up on this offer, and ordered a set of Mintex A/F pads for $80 for 4 wheels... I am happy with my decision as of right now, because I have heard nothing good about the Econo's, except from BAT themselves obviously. Anyways, we will still have to wait a few weeks for the results, as I am flying home to NY this Friday for 10 days.... I will keep y'all updated just in case anyone is in my position with buying brakes. Peace y'all... -Nick

I never considered the Brembo's because of the price... but if there's a deal to be had for $50/ea. for fronts... I don't blame you for jumping at the deal.

I hear nothing but bad things about the Econo Rotors! Avoid them like the plague!

Brembo doesn't make our rotors they are just labeled Brembo! I have a set of Autospecialty taht are crossdrilled and slotted! The rock with my KVR Carbon Fibre pads and the bust is nothing!

First-hand report...

Warped out of the box.

Called Eric.

Eric blamed it on the car.

Thus my relationship started and ended with BAT.

I will not be buying these again.

And I will not be buying anything from BAT ever again simply because of Eric blaming it on the car...

Econo or whatever.... These rotors are usually all off shore made, eg. made in China. They come under different names but probably made in the same factory. Here in Canada these rotor are available for less than 1/2 the price of brand name rotors. I've used these cheap rotors and found out the hard way. They are not balanced and they warp easy. The origin of where they are made is not casted in the metal. eg.( made in USA or Canada). I did eventually buy brand name rotors and of course they were made in Canada. No problems now.
Live and learn as the saying goes.

I certainly appreciate all of the feedback. I went with the AutoSpecialty rotors from SP Motorsports. It was a pleasant buying experience. Should be getting my parts shortly... just in time for winter driving!

Anyone that doesn't have new rotors turned right away is asking for trouble. Going on 10k and multiple AutoX weekends with those rotors with the Mintex pads and zero warping.
