I installed my BAT big brake kit "B" last night. For those that don't know, it consists of 278mm solid rotors and Mintex 1144 Comp pads. Installation took about 30 minutes (I had access to air tools and a lift). The braking is noticeably improved. I have SS lines to install, so that should help as well. There are some annoyances, though. First, the 1144 pads put out LOTS of dust. Second, they smell bad...pull up to a Drive-Thru and you'll get a whiff of "burnt clutch". Third, they squeal...I put on the brakes and it sounds like songs of the humpback whale. The noise is mostly at sub-15mph speeds and with light brake pressure. Otherwise, it's an upgrade I reccommend to the non-SVT drivers out there.

Hmm, no squeeling on mine. Take out the pads and put some Disc Brake Quiet on the back of the pads. $1.99 at the local auto parts store.

Yes, they dust, pisses me off too. frown

Your wearing off the top layer and the pads are seating themselves. Give them some time to brake in. They will get better with time. Takes about 500 to 1k miles or so.
