Alright, I've already searched, and know now to change my brakes to mintex or any of the other recommended pads.

However, I was not in possesion of my car my first year at college, and certain persons did not take as anal care as I do... so I have brake dust stains on the damn rims. Hand washin/no touch washing has so far proven powerless in the face of SE Sport brake dust... is there ANYTHING I can use to get these brake dust stains off? frown

Try the Mothers' wheel polish that is made for "clear coated" wheels. I have used it on my 97SE's wheels and it removed all of the stains. Mothers' regular polish might be to abasive for your aplication.

brake parts cleaner, the chlorinated stuff works best, but is is very toxic, (causes cancer)

but be careful, not to get it on your paint, it will strip it.

You also might try Eagle 1 / A-Z Cleaner and a semi-stiff brush. It's worked real well for me. But then again, I've also pulled my wheels off just to get them really clean.

I also use the Eagle One A-Z wheel cleaner for the intial clean. Then I use some Mothers paint cleaner for stubborn stains. Then Meguiars polish to protect it from future dust. Helps to rinse the dust off. HTH laugh

Mothers took care of it completely after a little elbow grease. People have already asked if I painted the rims or got new ones. One year of neglect will do that. heh.
