Have a 2000 SVT and want to change my brakes. What is the largest diameter rotor that will fit under the stock 16' SVT wheel? Any brand recommendations?
Baer ... Willwood .... Brembo ...
Can I move my fronts to the rear?
Thanks jj

as far as i know you have to use a 5mm spacer to put the willwood kit with stock wheels...baer you can't use with a stock wheel at all...i'm not 100 percent sure - ...i'm personally getting the willwood brake kit for my 2000csvt and i am going to buy 5mm spacers from h&r - at 70 bucks a pair...ouch... eek

Concerning the rear brakes.

I'm waiting to see what the Focus SVT rear rotors and calipers look like. They are supposed to be 280mm (same as the front) so if they bolt on to a Contour...

I'm running 12.1" rotors up front and the stock 16" wheels fit just fine.

Does that 12.1 rotor bolt to the stock hub? If so, all we would need to make it work with the stock calipers would be a new, custom bracket correct?
You have the Willwood kit right David? I would love a bigger rotor up front for my track days. I know it won't be as powerfull without the better caliper, but a bigger rotor works like a bigger torque arm, creating more leverage. I can have brackets made, but I have been looking for a bigger, high quality rotor to go forward with this project. TIA

Chris Wong (cawong11) had the Willwood on his '95 SE w/ the stock wheels. Almost positive, anyway. FWIW

Its a custom setup, I'm using a Wilwood two piece rotor with an aluminum hat. The hat fits on the stock hub, but it needs a small centric ring so the rotor will be centerer on the hub. My setup would roughly cost about $800, the main the that costs alot is the fabfrication of the bracket that allows me to use a Wilwood 4 piston caliper.

This setup stops in a real hurry and lets you brake WAY late...

Check out my "traffic" video, I was able to pass quite a few cars and brake alot later than anyone else...
