As much as I like my SVT, I've always had a spot in my heart for Camaro SS's. Looks like the only way of getting one now is used. So sad. Then again, the latest Autoweek had a piece on Bob Lutz pushing for the Holden Monaro as the next Pontiac GTO.

We will be sending an administrative message to our dealers this evening to announce that final "sold" order date for Camaro SS is this Friday, March 15. We are doing this due to the tremendous influx of "sold" orders in the past few
months....and we want to ensure that we build cars for the people who have already ordered them. Any order submitted after March 15 will only be orderable as a "stock" order and is "will-try" only.
Camaro Z28 and V6 will still be orderable until early April...however, I caution that due to extremely low inventories coupled with a demand for the LS1 engine, if you want a new Camaro, you need to order it today rather than tomorrow.
Our plan is to build Camaros and Firebirds thru August of '02, however, it is imperative that we schedule the cars orderly ...and thus, we need all orders finalized by early April.

(How well is Camaro selling? We had nearly 2,500 Camaro SS Coupes in dealer inventory last February 27.....this year? Less than 250.........that's nationwide......)
