Im just curious as to what the little black box underneather the spare wheel well is? can it be relocated. Sorry if this is a dumb question...

Don't screw with that unless you like Check Engine Lights. It is your Charcoal Canister. Leave it alone....move on.

It's your little black box. When you get into an accident and you die the police recover it to see what happened. Kind of like a flight data recorder.

So there is no way in hell of moving it? its in a bit of a vulnerable place, and appart from that its starting to fall off, i just want to relocat it to the side a bit....

That little black box has an important black charcoal canister in it.

I found this out the hard way.

I installed a sub inclosure in the spare tire well. The increased vibration caused the weld for the black box to fall off. I heard something scraping on the roadway. It was the black box scraping. I took it to the dealership to have it welded back on. Before I knew it the "master techs" at ford were removing my $7000 stereo from my trunk. They ended up giving me a bolt and a rubber bushing and sending me on my way.

Very important black box.

Damn, cause i wanted to put a straight exhaust pipe with the tip out the middle of the back bumper..... Oh well back to the old drawing board......

You can relocate it either left or right and extend the pipes but it height relative to the fuel tank MUST stay the same.NEVER relocate it inside the car or close to a hot exhaust,it fills with gas fumes and will go like a pound of C4 !!!
