I accidentally posted this to the Performance forum, so I'm reposting it here, where it belongs.

Well, my new BAT big brake kit rotors already have to be replaced. I've had them cut 4 times now, and they're pulsating again. So, I seem to remember hearing that certain SVT Contour's had 278 mm rotors, while different years had 280 mm rotors. The BAT catalog uses the sizes interchangeably. I'm guessing that either size will work, being so close, but I want to be sure. Anyone know which size (or better yet, what Ford part number or model and year of car) I need to replace them with? I'm going with Ford brakes--they're the only rotors I've had that lasted a long time.

I'm pretty sure that there is just one size. Ford refers to them as 11" in their literature. My guess is that they are really 278mm and just as some round that up to 11" some also round that up to 280mm.

It is the BAT Big Brake Kit C. I'm using the Mintex A/F pads that came with the kit. The rotors were warped when I got them, and Eric at BAT would do nothing about it other than to say, "turn them". I did. They've now been turned, if I remember correctly, 4 times, and cannot be turned more. No, I wish I had 300 mm rotors--these are the 278 mm ones.
