Here's a different scoop I did on my '98. It's fully tied in to my KKM and has a drain for water as well.

The idea? Well, I wanted cold air induction. With the KKM it would have been a nightmare to try and route a hood- or bumper-mounted intake straight into it (not to mention my fear of getting a snoot full of water if I hit a puddle with a front-facing system). Just seemed logical to go through the fender. The shape came from the existing shape in the fenderwell.

When bravery and metal cutting tools meet! Good job! Have you checked for any kind of air pressure made by that thing? Any problems with birds or cats? Oh, and I fixed your pics. Geocities/Yahoo blows.

I'm impressed. Thanks Chris now I can see it. I like it A LOT. Couldn't do it myself though. I don't have your stones.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Thanks for the help with the pics. Any suggestions for future posts w/pics so I can avoid that?
And no, no tests. I should have done a baseline test. But there is a real difference, especially when hot. And the sound that comes out of it at WOT is heavenly.

You e-mail me the pics and I put them on my server. I have a NACA scoop from a Lear Jet waiting to be installed in the same position, just a little higher on the fender. What does it look like under the hood? Stock SVT airbox? That's what I am using.

I would say totally different, but you should have used the vent shape scoops similiar to the new BMW M3's.
But, overall, good job!
