Hello,

What does anybody think about their aftermarket pads and rotors?
I don't think I will be using drilled or slotted rotors, most likely, I will use the plain vanilla ones (brand recommendations are still important though).
The pads that I am curious about about are these: EBC Greenstuff, Mintex (1144 and A/F), KVR, Performance Friction (if you can recommend any other brands, please do).
I would like opinions on pad performance(hot AND cold), dustiness, wear and feel.
I do mostly highway driving in this car but cold stopping is really important to me because I drop off my kids every morning before work [fade resistance is important too; I like to go for an occaisional drive through the Santa Monica Mountains].
I prefer to upgrade the components on my cars as the originals need to be replaced (or sooner if I can justify it to my wife ).

Sorry for the long list of ?s.

Thanks for your time.

Mike

I'm happy with my Mintex A/F front pads. I haven't yet had the chance to push em in the mountains, so I can't testify on fade resistance. Dust is quite a bit less than the stockers, but it's still there. Cold and wet braking is greatly improved over stock.

I have BAT's "premium" rotors and couldn't be happier with those either.

I use Axxis Metalmaster brake pads. Hardly any dust and they last forever. As for rotors, I tried PowerStop x-drilled. They needed a light cut out of the box and warped twice in 19k miles. Went back to Raybestos rotors with no problems since. BTW, I am not hard on brakes.

I use Porterfield R4S pads with the stock rotors on ny SVT. A little dusy but they eliminated a minor fluid fade problem on the track.

My Autospecialty rotors are warping for their second time now so I will be looking elsewhere.

I've got Bendix OEM size rotors and Perf. Friction carbonmetallic pads all around. No warpage (6k miles) and much better performance than original equip.

Just spent $280 for 2 new Raybestos front rotors and brakes. The repair shop owner said they're the "blue box" type, which is the top of the line. (Hey, what do I know about this stuff?) At least I'll get 1% back because I charged it to my Discover card.

I just got 4 eurorotors for my car. They were about 70$ can. each. I also had them cadmium plated for 60$ can. Next step is cryo-treatment. IMHO, brembo/eurorotor and raybestos are no brainers for our cars (non-SVT) They seem to make quality blanks.

I also got some Mintex a/f from sp motorsports. For my usage, it should be plenty fade resistant. I almost went for EBC in front, mostly for the supposed dust free performance. In the back, anything better than mintex a/f is overkill, unless you race the car.
