Just checking out DemonTweeks UK 2001 Motorsport catalog and came across this:

AP Racing Bolt-On Brake Kit
Consists of:
Specially designed vented disks size 295x28G X2
Lightweight anodised alloy mounting bell X2
AP Racing 4 piston alloy caliper X2
Purpose designed caliper mounting bracket X2
Brake Pads X4
Fixing Bolts

Fits wheels 7x15 or larger

Catalog #CP3307-1018A
Price (UK) 1358.90

The application is listed as "Mondeo/Contour- 93+"

Before you get scared by the price, subtract 17.5% for their VAT (value added tax) then multiply by that number by the current exchange rate of around 1.3. Shipping from the UK is not all that bad either. Lots of other cool Contour/Mondeo stuff on offer as well! www.demon-tweeks.co.uk for more info.

So we're talking in the neighborhood of $1500(USD)?

Ouch. Sorry, but I think the $775 for the baer kit is a better option. Heck, the price difference would go a long ways towards the necessary 17" wheels the baer requires.

Or did I work that out wrong?

The problem with the AP brake kit is the calipers are for racing they have almost no protective coating hence lots of corosion and they have no dirt seals to stop road muck, seized pistons. The kit would be OK if you could substitute the 3300 series calipers for 5100 or 5200 series they are identifieable by being painted black.

I'm not saying that I am buying a set, but just pointing it out for everybody...
