I'm looking at taking a golf vacation to Myrtle Beach, and was wondering what the climate's like in Dec-Jan. (That's when everything's cheapest). If not then what other time of year would be the best blend of weather and price?

My brother, father and I have gone on golf trips down that way for the last few years in the early spring. We started off in mid-march and each year we pushed it back later and later in the year because it just seemed too cold and rainy at least one day of the long weekend.
I would suggest waiting until at least the first week of April, but if you don't mind dealing with the possibility of some cold and rain, earlier is possible and you can luck out and get totally great weather. I mean it could be 70 on New Year's Day! I just believe that if you're going to spend the money to make the trip, you ought to at least allow a good chance that the weather will cooperate, even if it ends up costing a little more.
Hope that helps.

We have a time share on Hilton Head Island (down the coast a little ways from Myrtle Beach) for week 51.. Usually the week between Christmas and New Year's. Taking a walk on the beach at night time requires a jacket. Most days you'll be fine wearing a sweatshirt out and about, sometimes short sleeves, but definitely not shorts weather.
We have some years where we don't get any rain all week long, some where it'll rain 4 or 5 days during the week. Kinda hit or miss.
