I've recently decided to modify the interior of my contour and have a ton of questions. This sight is great but alot of the material concentrates on performance mods and I can't find anything on cosmetic mods for my car. As you can probably guess I am new to auto modifications but want to learn. Thanks to those who will take time to answer my questions. and now finally getting to the point:
Where can I get a shift knob (other than plain black) for automatic tran that has a place for the o/d button? If it isn't possible can I paint it and other parts like the trim another color also what kind of paint should I use.
Is it possible to get inst. panel/clock/warning lights in different colors and if so any suggestions on who might carry them?
one more:
Is it possible to remove the leather cover and metal plate behind the armrest in the backseat without damaging the backrest? I've looked in my shop manual and can't find a thing.
thank you to those who take time to answer my questions

Welcome! I haven't done any customization of my interior, so I'm not too sure if these places will carry much, but it's worth a shot. try www.kustomz.com and www.scracing.net I'm sure there are many other places, but they're a start.

Don't waste your time on ATX shift knobs. I have spent a lot of time, and found one by Matrix racing that probably won't fit because of the reverse-lockout ring. You're stuck with the ugly shifter!

What reverse lockout ring? What are you talking about?

Oh sorry, only MTX has that. Summit Racing has one ATX shifter in carbon fibre or wood. Looks ugly and is uncomfortable (I held one at Pep Boys).

if you have o/d on your auto trans, it definitely won't fit. i believe that involves relocating the o/d? which really doesn't sound worth it.
