I'm new at mechanics but i have taken a keen interest in interior mods and i have started to work on my 95 contour se . i am using the Haynes shop manual for contour/mystique 95-98. it gives step by step instruction of removal and replacement of every part in your car and gives photos and illustrations that are extremely helpful. I've gone from not knowing a thing about cars to doing a full service tune-up all because of this book check it out. it only cost me 13 dollars. I got mine at pep boys.
and just to let you know it tells you in full detail how to remove all panels trim and your entire dashboard.

good luck

If you open your compartment behind the e brake there are screws inside it on the bottom. Loosen those and the front pops out of these holders. Just make to you don't snap them. Oh, this was on a MTX setup!
