There will be an AutoX event at the Florida State Fairgrounds this weekend and I will be going. Just want to watch and get an idea of the goings on around the scene. A couple other tours are going, if you want to go, then post and we can meet up @ the event or possibly earlier for some breakfast.

It is an SCCA event. You can find out more info here . That is the web site for the CFR SCCA. I strongly suggest new guys to go to practice. Seat time is the best learning tool there is. Also, the SCCA eventd are very well organized and very fun to particiopate in.

Im up for breakfast beforehand. What time does everyone plan to arrive at FSF? I dont know that area very well, so if someone wants to organize a morning meet & eat, Ill be there.

BTW - Can someone explain to me what all is involved with "practicing" on Saturday? Does it cost money, require being registered, require you to run the next day.... etc etc. Id like to get some seat time, but dont know what it entails.

Saturday practice is just that...practice. You do not win anything. Basically it is 4 heats. 2 of which you will actually drive, and 2 of which you will be responsible for "working" the course. On a decent Saturday you can get about 18 practice runs in. Far superior to the 3 you get on a trophy day. Also, the practice course is damn close to what the actual curse will be on Sunday, so you have a huge advantage. If you cannot go both days, shoot for Saturday.

Does the Saturday practice cost money ($20/$30) like the trophy runs do? Also, does it require you to be registered, or do you just show up and hit the course? Sorry, im just totally dense when it comes to Auto-X since im very new to it.
