Just keep replacing whatever needs replacing and any car can last as long as you want.

I'd be hard pressed to own a car that long much less be in the car 20% of my day (1/3 your awake time) for ~30 years too!!!

The website says he got it new in '66, and put 1500 miles on in the first weekend!
36 years, 1,800,000 = 50,000 miles a year!
But if he ONLY drove it on the weekend, and drove it as much as the first weekend he got it,
1500 miles/weekend x 52 weekends/year = 78,000 miles a year, as a weekend driver!
I guess this guy has delivered pizza for a living for 36 years...

me personally if i ever get that typhoon over 100k miles i am going to cry like a school girl.
i honestly think i would get sick of ANY car after 1.8 million miles, the littlest things would start to drive me crazy.
the thing that is most surprising is that this mofo averages 50k a year! dizzam!!!

I used to work at a place that was about 1 hour and 10 minutes away. My friend currently still works there. He drives to and from the place 5 days a week and has had his car for 1 years time and put on 50k. Plus his other driving when he is not working.

My brother has an '86 Camaro. We think it has over 200,000 miles on it. If that GM POS can make it to 200,000 miles, the Contour should easily be able to make it to 400,000 miles.

My buddy is up to 315,000 on his '89 Z28 (original engine). He's pretty diligent about maintaining the car. 315000 mile Camaro
