Hi... I had a run-in with an SUV, like Ryan did a while back. The guy starts a right-hand turn, so I start pulling up behind him... I take my eyes off him for a sec to look left (make sure the coast is clear), and the guy slams on his brakes for some reason. I hit him doing 5-10 mph. The airbags went and everything. The shop tells me 5-10 days. I hope it's done my Memorial Day weekend, we were gonna take the Mystique up to North Carolina. I just bought my Mystique 3 months ago! Where are you having it fixed? Do not, I repeat DO NOT have it fixed at Roger and Sons body shop, or at Kelly Ford for that matter. Both of those places suck ass. I am really sorry you got in the wreck. If you need a chauffer, I am available for 25 bucks an hour.....

By God I know your pain man. My car has been out for two months after a guy ran a stop light and took my front end off.....$5200 damage. It took their insurance company 2 weeks to just accept liability, now it will be going on two months by time I get it back. Good luck to you....glad no one was hurt. Peace

Geez, what is going on with this world....Two Mystique Young Americas hit an SUV and mess up their front ends???? I hope I didn't start a trend or something. Keith, just tell me it wasn't a Chevy Tahoe!!! I hit a blue one!! My hood go lucky, the Tahoe came down on top of it cause it rode so high! I still haven't got an estimate on my ride yet, I'm waiting for my first paycheck....I get paid next week!!!!
Keith, let me know how much your's costs and I'll do the same.

Hi. no it was a Mitsubishi Montero, gold with black trim. I don't fault the guy driving it, he had to stop because someone pulled out in front of him (so I assume).
Anyone here familiar with the intersection of Narcoosie Road and SR-528 (Beeline) in Orlando? The one with the 7-11? It's a big mess... I figure accidents happen there all the time.

Would it be more satisfying right now to have your hands around Joan Claybrook's and Ralph Nader's necks, or to get the car fixed?
Part of me would almost desire the former, as a token of thanks for their uneducated efforts in mandating those sticks of dynamite in our dashboards...
Sorry to hear about the mishap, Keith...
This is quite ironic, too. On the way back from Road Atlanta on Sunday, Grady Brain called me up and said he'd just read on the forums that Bill Berryman (think he lives in Mississippi now) had totaled his car this weekend in an accident on the way to softball practice. What did he drive? You got it: a 1995 Mystique Y.A. Thankfully, he was unhurt.
Be safe,

Yes, those stupid f*&*^$g airbags have really screwed things up. What should be a minor fender-bender now has a $5800 repair estimate -- $3200 of which is to replace the airbags and related components. Since the market value of the car is around $6000-6500, the body shop tells me to expect a call from the insurance company regarding the "totalling" of the car. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with insurance companies? I'd really, really, really like to get the car fixed... airbags or not. Can I "buy it back" from them, and get everything fixed except for the airbags? Ideas anyone? What shop did you go to? When my Truck got hit, I took it to Quality Ponitac on 520 in cocoa. They did a fantastic job for getting so little money from the insurance company.

I was in a hurry. I was trying to see if I could get the car fixed by Memorial Day weekend. I called around, and Osman Lincoln/Mercury led me to believe they could work on it right away. Plus, they're just down the road from me, they're about 3 miles from where I live. 520 in Cocoa is considerably far for me to drive... but maybe I'll give them a shot if I strike out in Melbourne. They would do Ford/Mercury work? Originally posted by 2K SVT: What shop did you go to? When my Truck got hit, I took it to Quality Ponitac on 520 in cocoa.
