Anyone with a Duratec/SVT motor without a hoodliner (whether you never had one to begin with or have taken your's off) have any paint problems because of this?

I will probably experiment by taking mine out, but I don't want to bake or melt my paint if I leave the thing off! eek

Took mine off a few months ago and no problems here. Convinced my friend to take his off his Z24 at the same time, and no problems there either, not that it matters.

Took mine off last summer as it was rubbing against some of the engine components and melting/burning down at those points. No ill effects since then, you hear a little more engine noise, but that is ok!

you will not have any paint problems with the hoodliner removed. Our Contours don't run that hot... when compared to other cars... (ie, turbos, V8, V12, rotaries...)

Mine didn't come with one but I only have an SE. I'm not positive but I think all SVT's had them.

I took mine off a few months ago...
I have a supercharger stuffed under the hood creating a lot of extra heat and I have yet to have any problems caused from it.

I've had mine off for over a year, and haven't had any problems yet.
