After all that crap at Ford last week, and two days AFTER AIS, I figured out the problem! The A arm bushings on both sides of my car are so worn that they aren't doing ANYTHING. The thumping noise is the arm itself banging against the through bolt! And the wiggling is the actual wheel goin back and forth! Happy yet still so mad....

Gotta hand it to those quick service guys. I guess then the A arm's are "supposed" to fail after a given option.
That's it ... So FORD makes more money by factoring in failures they can say are a "part of owning a Contour."
This is why I hate all Ford Service people.

Yea but all my pitching and rolling and jerkin and slammin is just a "charachteristic of the SVT flywheel". Ford basically denied there was any sort of problem with the car at all because they thought I was just some 18 year old with no automotive knowledge even though I walk in there 4 times with grease all over me from Edison. They put a very unsafe vehicle back on the road so they may be doing some free work for me or legal action may follow.
The sad part is when I REALLY sat down and put some thought into the problem and what the wheels were doing when I power braked the car...once the car was in the air it took my ten seconds with a prybar to see the A arm just flopped around almost! Now Ford told me they put the car up on the alignment rack and looked under it while power braking it and saw no odd movements. SO my guess is that was a crock also,

I have the same issue. I knew the front arms were shot, so now at least I know that once I fix them I will eliminate my alignment problems (won't hold an alignment due to shot ball joints) and the physical knocking I get under hard deceleration and tip in. Just another thing holding me into the 15s (for now). :p Now if Terry would just come out with those upgraded horizontal front arms ....

now wait, name all the characteristics you are facing, cause my wheel vibrates in the car and I am not sure but on the track I thought I may have heard some noises. Maybe I am just dreaming bad thoughts??

Mike's symptoms are far more severe than you can imagine. Light tapping on the accelerator causes massive thumping/jolting. I was shocked when Mike took me for a spin! Then he opened the hood and accelrated from 1st to 2nd and you could see the entire engine jolting back and forth...It was kinda scary!

Yea I'm guessing that engine rocking back and forth was because the wheels were slamming FOwaRD and the arm was taking the whole subframe for a ride it seems like! Turtle...onyx black exteme eh? Mike, This would be the perfect time to get a set of A-Arms from Terry or CTA! They are probably the same price as OEM ones but have better bushing material!
