The boy is sick so I'm running into town with him today to get him some ice cream to make him happy.

(I'm not necessarily happy - I've had to take the day off to keep him at home 'cause it's my turn)

Driving into town, I notice the odometer clicks over 100,000. I've made a deal with myself in a previous life that I would not make ANY mods to this thing until it hits 100K because it is a daily driver.

So anyways, the 100K thing happens and I drive right by a muffler shop on the way to the store of cold ice-cream.

I stop in said shop on the return trip home and tell the triage-man I want the resonator cut out and pronto, 'cause I've got a 3 year old with me that could turn into the Tazmanian Devil(TM) at any moment and cause untold damange to his waiting area. The man says there is 'no waiting' and has one of the 'techs' remove the res in record time. I mean they're done in no more than 15 minutes.

So triage-man says my car is ready and then asks if he can inquire as to why I wanted the resonator removed? Did I want a little more sound, or what?

(Now keep in mind here that this guy was giving me the tone one would take whilst acting like an all-knowing father with their 16 year old. I'm nearly triple that!)

I simply told him that it was a 100,000 mile present for my vehicle, and that was that.

You should have seen the look on his face. He'd never heard that one before.

(I guess you had to be there.)

Anyways, I am VERY pleased with the rumbly-tumbly sound of no resonator. If anyone with a non-SVT V6 is interested in this it doesn't seem too loud AT ALL from inside the vehicle and adds a nice note of authority to the fart hole.

Good evening,

Rob-o

I am happy that you are happy with the sound of your no/res'd v6. I am having mine put back in as a present to myself because i can't even run her hard anymore because the raspy/ricey sound is tooo embrassing... i pesonally think the sound of the svt exhaust is VERY nice, and is not worth tampering with, unless you are replacing it.

good luck with the rest of your mods... laugh

i am offically a troll... so take my information and advice with a grain of salt.
