Well, I was VERY young then smile As my fuzzy memory recalls, they had an event called the NHRA Record Runs, big names were there, and Don Prudhomme set a 199 mph through the traps for a new record. But I have absolutely no documentation to back that up, so if any statisticians out there prove me totally wrong, I accept your verdict! I do remember it was very loud.... Haven't been to a drag race since (not sure why not, though).

Hello Mike,

I am glad that you are interested in the upcoming
event at cecil county on July 14th. I will give you a
brief run down of the information regarding the event.

If less than 30 participants:

One class of racing (Bracket dial in) Fords Vs. GM

Prize money will be split 350 (winnner) 150 (r/u)

If more than 30 participants to maximum (50 cars)

Two classes of racing (N/A and Power Adder)

Bracket dial in for both classes

Power Adder consist of Turbos, S/C, NOS regardless if
it is stock or aftermarket.

Winner of Class 1 and Class 2 will compete in a King
of the Hill run. $500 goes to the winner of the King
of the Hill run.

Trophies will be handed out in the following
catergories:

King of the Hill (if 30 or more racers)
Class 2 Winner (if 30 or more racers)
Class 2 R/U (if 30 or more racers)
Class 1 Winner
Class 1 R/U
Fastest Power Adder
Fastest N/A
Best Show Car Ford
Best Show Car GM

The is a mandatory meeting at 8:30am for all racer.
Registration ends on July 10th. $40 for those who pre
pay before the event and $45 for those who do not at
the gate.

Cecil Co. is about 40 min North of Balto, depending on how you drive. wink
