I'm looking to get my resonator eliminated and a new muffler installed. Mufflerman in brockton quoted me $168 for the whole job including a flowmaster delta 40 muffler. That seemed a little high to me considering I can get the muffler off of Ebay for around 50 bucks and everyone says the res elimination should only be 20-40 bucks. 80 bucks in labor seems a bit high to install a muffler, do you guys know of any good muffler shops in the SE Ma/Boston area?

if you want to head a little farther north..
there is a place called Lou's Custom Exhaust, in north reading.
they specialize in custom work..
everything is mandrel bent and fully welded.

they only charged me $20 to remove my res.

and they quoted me $300 to do a single inlet dual outlet with duals all the way back w/tips.

i go to them for all my exhaust work and have been for at least 8 years.

Ditto for Lou's.

He has 2 shops, one in N. Reading and another in Revere on Broadway.

He did a catback exhaust on my GTi, (Dropped it off there from Salem with only an Autotech header on the car while unregistered at like 1 AM...yeah baby!)

They took the res. off my 2nd SVT, and they have done a bunch of work for my buddy.

I recomend them. Prices are good too.

if i remember correctly the one in revere is no longer affiliated with the one in N reading.
that one is a Pro-exhaust.
it is run by one of the brothers. he and pappa lou had a falling out and thats when the one in NR became Lous custom.

Theres also Lous 2 Custom Exhaust in Medford.

Ask for Dennis Caprigno Jr. Great guy, has done all my exhaust work on all my cars.

That is interesting...perhaps that explains the Meffa locations?

The guy in Revere was pretty good but was kind of slob. Good work cheap though.
