need to raise $2,500 for 13 months of dsl through Andy W. (if you've been following the General Forums today you'd know Andy's solution to save CEG). This amount is so easy to attain!

They're taking paypal, or you can pm/email perry (lunchbox) for his snailmail address to send a donation.

I'm glad Lance is at least cooperating with this idea to keep CEG going.
I'm sure CEG may be down for a couple weeks due to server maintenance, but it's still better than nothing.

I need a credit card!!! I've been wanting to Paypal several things to CEGers lately, and I've been forced / will be forced to use U.S. Mail!

Maybe I'll go and apply for one so I can donate ...

you can directly link paypal to your bank accounts and don't necessarily need a credit card.
in fact, some people can't even accept credit card payments over paypal because they don't have the proper business account to accept such things (you have to pay paypal a fee for accepting payments made with people's credit cards).

paypal will also limit the amount you can send using credit cards until you "verify" your account by giving paypal your personal bank account information.
(I have not personally done this because my spending limit on paypal is like $2,000, I barely use it and so they don't need my bank account as backup or whatever).

(btw, when you get to college and buy your books, they are gonna stuff your books at the register with tons of offers from different credit card companies trying to get you to sign up. some credit card companies may even hold a booth at your school and give out free stuff if you get a membership, so don't you worry, you'll be rolling in credit cards in no time. hehe)

Thinking of all the money the site has saved me over the past year or so, it was a no brainer to chip in and keep it going.

cool

It might be an idea to mail/call/go-knock-on-their-door all of the neceg'ers so that they know this is going on....

I'm sure some folks probably aren't aware of this yet.

edit --- I guess Mike already did mail everyone. Just ignore me, I don't know what I'm doing anymore since I am not tired for the first time in like 7months !! Two weeks of sleeping like a normal person does wonders for me ! smile

Wow, Kim, thanks! I guess I have a lot of reading up to do on Paypal services smile

BTW, in the CC e-mail, we now have each others' addresses all in one nice big list, if anybody wanted to organize it all...
