OK, here goes....

The weather for my entire trip was ideal!!! We had two showers in England the first day I was there and then rain one night in Germany and that was it. Mid 70's and sunny.

Spent 4 days in England with side trips from where my girlfriend lives. Just chilled on day 1 which is when I arrived. Did the New Forest the second day via bike. This is protected by the government and there are wild horses and cows running around all over the place, even in the villages!!!! Did Portsmouth the third day with its great naval history. Did London the 4th day. Then on to Germany on day 5.

Munich was better than I imagined. I love the German culture, everyone just chills at the outdoor seating of Restaurants/Cafe's/Beer Gardens and talk the evening and night away!!!! Lots of sites in Munich and history. Visited St. Peters Church and was reading about events from the eary 1100's eek

We went to the great Deutsches Museum and it takes up an entire island. We were there for 4 hours and never made it off the first floor (I think there were 6 floors). Learned all about history of automobiles, airplanes, trains, bridges, tunnels. Oh my god!!!!!

We visited the concentration camp at Dachau and that was a very sobering experience. frown

Of course the famous beer halls with one that everyone knows the Hofbrauhaus. Everyone singing and dancing to the band with Steins of beer everywhere!!!!! :p

The food was great, but I love Bavarian cuisine. sausages, wild bore, ox etc. etc.

Then we went to Austria, specifically Salzburg. This is most famous for the hometown of Mozart, but it sits in the Austrian Alps and it is so beautiful!! From there a side trip to Lake St. Wolfgang even farther into the Alps... This place is beyond words!!!!!

Overall a great trip and very relaxing. I tried many different German beers, I sampled a lot of different types of food, and I finally got to see the Alps and Munich. I even improved my very limited use of the German language.

Sorry so long, but this is just the highlights.

Oh man: 46 oz margarita times 2 = 92 oz. That's like 7 2/3 beers. No wonder I was line dancing with the waitresses...

Oh yes I forgot about that little adventure. Went up there for a couple of hours one day. Nothing special about it unless you like BMW's. I did manage to see every model they make which was very interesting. Those M5's are to die for!!!!! eek

They had a prototype M roadster in the lot that they claimed would do 0-100 Kilomters per hour (0-62) in under 4 seconds!!!! eek I think they did a little tuning to that thing to get that much power out of it. Other than that, they have a nice little program where you can order your car at the plant and they will make it to your specifications and then ship it to your local BMW dealer for pickup. That was very tempting. But the M5 was running about 90,000 Euros.

I think it was well worth the 2 hours I was there.
