Hey, everybody!!!

Ok, this one starts off with twin sightings on saturday... one Silver SVT in Union Sq, Somerville, with a "Tuned by Razo" or some such sticker on the back... it was in serious need of a wash and some love!! The other one was a green (!) SVT in Reading, around 6:00 pm, on 28, heading east.

Other than that... here goes the long part.

For the last week, I was on a much needed vacation from work. My second week off in the last 10 years (between high school and working since I was 15, at least one job, usually two...). But, my computer at home pretty much ate itself (power supply failure which took my hard drive and the hard drive controller with it), so, I had no access to email or the boards!!! Suffice to say it was a bittersweet vacation!

I also brought the car into the shop (local mechanic) to get it checked out. It turns out that the timing belt was about to fly off, and my serp belt was in need of replacement. Between the belts, a tune up, an oil change, and labor, I'm out $480, and the car still isn't fixed!! mad It's still idling really rough, sometimes the car will stall, and won't stay on in gear, I have to turn it off for a good 15 minutes. Robin had a similar thing in her '94 Cavalier RS, and it was her torque converter. Any ideas if the Tour has something similar?

Other than that, I celebrated the 4th with some friends, and on friday, officially turned 1/4 of a century old!! Woohoo!! :-) Best gifts of the day... Robin picking me up some BDU's (miltary fatigues), and my dad picking up an Alpine 4/3/2 75w x 4ch amp for the car!! :-) Just have to get one of my speakers patched up, and then it's LOUD TIME! :-)

Hope everybody had a great week!!!

Now to go back through the last week's worth of posts!! eek

man, that sucks about your car.
glad you were able to enjoy yourself other than the stupid problems you had to deal with this past holiday.

keep us updated when you find out what the problem is.

The guy driving the SVT looked to be in his mid to late 20's... doesn't mean it's not a family car, though. :-D

Hell, growing up, the "family car" was an '87 Camaro..... ;-)

Yeah, my car's upset with me, but, hey, it's got over 97k on it, with less than $2k to go until it's MINE! :-)

if your car is running rough and stalls sometimes you might want to considder haveing the PCU scanned for codes. It is possible that it has codes stored but is not setting off the CEL.

More interesting occurances...

it now seems that if I run my a/c, the engine will not stall, but, will still idle pretty harshly... help!

Check O2s. Maybe just replace them. Supposibly they should be replaced every 50 to 60000. Not sure if that is needed but nearing 100000 it may be time.
