my friend just signed his life away and bought a black one. its the xr edition with no other options. its definately a step up from his 99 tiburon he traded. so what do you guys think about it? i told him he should join up here but i dont think hes going to. hes not that big into the whole internet thing other than games.

does he plan on modifying it?
is it mtx or atx?
signed his life away? how much did he get on trade in?

there's nothing more special about the xr's than any other special edition cougar (C2, Zn).
just more cosmetic stuff to make the girlies go "oo pretty" and nothing else.
was really disappointed with it when they unveiled it at cougarfest 2001.

he should have bought the new V6 Tiburon....slap a sick turbo on that thing and you'll love it.....

Yeah, the Tibs are cute. Susie got the four banger and it's still a nice package, but very claustrophobic. I can't rest my arm on the window sill very easily since it is up about your shoulder height. :rolleyes:

he sais he wants to mod the living hell out of it but he has said that about his last car too (99 tiburon) but he never will. its an mtx; he will never drive an auto again he sais and i agree with him totally, unless he moves to boston or something. i think he got 7200 for his trade and they took a bunch of money off the sticker but he is jumping back into another loan, he now has his house and a new car to pay for. he isnt going to have ANYTHING left for, well, anything. he really liked the way it looked so we sort of convinced him to pony up the extra grand or whatever it is and go for the special edition. he looked at the new tiburon with me and we both agree that it doesnt look good at all. i especially hate the shifter and boot but that is all personal taste anyway.
