Hey.
Has anyone tried to put a Foci backseat into their vehicles? I like the fact that the bottom cushion folds up so when the top folds down, it's flat. Is this possible to do in our cars?
I had the feature in my Merkur and thought it was the cat's meow.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

I'm trying making the little spot In the middle of the back arm rest open so you can put stuff from the truck thru the back seat like skies or something.Also I want It to act as a port for my speaker box.

I saw pictures of a Focus ZX3 that the owner had removed the back seat, and then fabricated a carpeted wood platform to put in place of the cushion. That's another idea for if you don't ever use the back seat.

Hey.
Unfortunately, I use the backseat to cart around my kids, so that really isn't an option. I was just wondering if someone had tried this. I guess I'll be the guinea pig, if I can find some Merkur seats, of course. I don't really like the way the Foci seats fold. I even asked a sales guy if they were thinking of changing the seats to this configuration, but all he said was Ford will consider it once the contract with the current supplier runs out.

Unless you've got a HUGE sub enclosure, you could fabricate a homebrew box that fits down on the floor pan betwixt the rear seat and the front seat. The bass really gets your attention there, even with the tiny 6.5" JBLs I use. Leg room is not an option in a Contique, anyway, and besides that my kid is still few years away from 'adulthood'.
Damn that adulthood, anyway.

Hey. The mod I want to do isn't for my stereo or anything like that. I just like the way most european cars and station wagons have the lower backseat cushion split in half like the top, so when it folds down, the floor from the trunk opening is flat. Sorry if I didn't make myself clearer.

putting a focus back seat in a 'tour isn't possible without major modifications and losing some of the functionality of the seat...the mounting locations are comletely different, and seats are generally designed to work with a specific floor pan. I also don't think there's room underneath a contour back seat for the mechanism

The bottom cushion of a Focus rear seat is not a split design anyway. Only the seatback is split.
