So i went outside to go drive the Tempo since the tranny mount on my SVT is gone, and i sit down and nothice the visors are down with the mirrors unfolded. I figured no biggie my dad might have done it... the i noticed stuff from the glove box on the floor. So i turned on the lights and the steering column is screwed. Someone tried to steal my Tempo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who the F$$k tries to steal a tempo!!!! I am so pissed off right now, I cant recall if my dad had coverage for that, even if he did its going to be a $500. detuctable, the car is not driveable cause i cant get the key in!! man am i pissed. Just had to vent. I plan on installing some heavy duty motion ligths and taken some other measures now, this means WAR!!!!!!

had to have been some punk kids trying to get a car for a joyride cause there is no way a pro would want a tempo. anyway, sorry to hear about that. you might be able to get a new column lock assembly thing from advanced auto, i know they have some in there.
THIS CAR IS F***ING COOL!

haha sorry mike, the only reason im laughing is because thats just plain ridiculous, just like the minivan youll have to "modify" the steering column now, like my corsica, so you dont need to use the keys or ignition anymore

yeah, you can wire up this funky set up where you touch two wires together to start it and then twist two others together to keep it running.

F'ing morons.
Some punk kids tried to steal my parents' car years ago, in like... '88 or so. Granted, it was an '87 Camaro (not bad for a family car, eh?)
Slapnuts decided it would be possible by just sticking a flathead screwdriver into the ignition and turning. Little did he know that it wouldn't, and he wound up snapping the head off the screwdriver and lodging it into the ignition.
Interesting story about the guy who tried to steal the car, actually... years later, he tried kidnapping an older woman in a carjacking, and tried to get her to take him to NY, but, he was arrested and thrown in jail. Just last year, one of his younger brothers was shot in the midst of a B&E in a house somewhere around here. Great family, eh?
