Hey Steve, Mike thinks he may have seen your old tour last night.
(yours, zetectosvt's, whoever).
he didn't get a chance to ask if the guy bought it from the VW dealership.
(since Mike never gets a chance to get on here, I figured I'd post the story. sorry mike).
He pulled up to a stoplight in the S. Willow St. area and saw a tour pulling up behind him.
light went green, mike slowed up and the guy went around Mike (2 lane street). As he passed by his g/f yelled out at Mike "nice car!!!"
and I guess they kinda drove side by side and chatted real brief. Mike asked if he's ever gone to contour.org and the guy said he's visited a couple times. No mention of registering a screenname.
and I think Mike mentioned our meets and how we'll be having more soon.
So hopefully, if that is your car, it'll be back in the loop again.

Whenever I see another Contour in the Manchester area they always pull up next to me and try to race. If I slow down for them to pull up along side of me they just take off without a glance. I tried a "hi, how's it going, nice car" routine a couple of nights ago and he peeled out into a bunch of traffic.

we don't see them TOO often in Manch.
we usually see the same ones and no new ones.
There's a black one that we still see now and then, that's sherland, but I don't think he comes here that often. Mike kinda recruited him once last year by leaving a note on his car at shop n save.
then there's that red one that parks at Dexter's, that's the guy who drives trucks but stopped in to say hi once (after mike posted a pic of his car on here, printed the page of his post and left that on the guy's car with the url as the header - creepy stalker type pimpin).

then there's this green one we see parked over near beech street. I think some bald guy owns it.
he's pretty snobby though.

I was referring to non-SVT Contours. I NEVER see SVT Contours around. If I did, I wouldn't know what to do. The last one I saw was that Recon7 police car dude.

There are a couple of nice Contour Sports around and these are the one's I try to connect with, but without any success.

I see 'Tours all the time. Seriously at least a dozen a day. I'll spot an SVT every 3 or 4 months, but, no more often than that.

There are a bunch of contours driving around Salem. Only time I've seen an SVT was at Elky's.

You must be talkin' about Paul. I ain't no snob. Stop in and say hi some time (unless you see a Tib in the driveway and hear a bunch of moaning from inside ). You can see my backyard from Gold Street - the one with the dying pine trees and the dirt that is "trying" to grow grass. ;=))

As far as the non-SVT's - most of 'em don't even know what a Contour enthusiast is.

I see Contours every day, like everyone else a dozen or more (WHY did Ford decide not enough were selling???!) but they're all the Zetec family cars / old people driving them. I have seen one SVT, but that was at a Bob-Evans in New Jersey while our bus was driving by. That's it. I intend to get to a meet someday!!! but my parents are now saying 'no'.
