I thought Drew was going to refuse to go to the Bills?
do you think he'll be so adamant that he'd quit football altogether rather than play on any other team than the Pats?

Sorry, I'm grateful he is gone. The $ is better spent on worthy performers. His time has long past. There was a lengthy discussion here about him last winter.

a typical new england sports fan.

his time has long past? come on.....give me a break.
that's pretty funny! laugh

well, i can see your point.....
Roger Clemens time had long past when he left.....
Babe Ruth's time had long past when he left....
Ray Bourque (although a different scenario) had long past his time too....
Yep....I see your point! laugh

I like Bledsoe too, but never, ever above the team as a whole. I think that was the whole point of this season, the team being more important than individuals?

Bourque asked to be traded and the Bruins obliged.

You call someone a "typical New England sports fan" and then bleat on about something that a happened 80 years ago? That sounds pretty "typical" to me.

I'll give you that letting Clemens get away was a mistake.

it happened to a new england team right? yes.
look what happened to the redsox after we got rid of him....80 years ago!
NOTHING....has happened....nothing. so yes, i mention something that happened 80 years ago because its still affecting the team now.....yes i believe in the curse.

I mentioned Bourque was a different scenario.

Clemens...yes.

Boggs...yes.

Bagwell...yes.

Sele...yes.

Should i continue? I'll try not to go too far back!

BTW...I TOTALLY AGREE with your team comment. You're absolutely right....team first. That's why I will continue to route for the Pats....but part of me (ok a lot of me) will be routing for Bledsoe when they meet twice a year...regardless of the outcome.

just my .02.....

I think Clemens was a different situation. Duquette didn't want him back and Clemens knew that, so he didn't pitch to his potential. Did he purposely not pitch up to his potential, but well enough to still get a good contract? Or did Duquette's lack of desire to keep Clemens around mess with his head and mess with his pitching? I don't know.

Bourque should never have been traded. There would have been no need to trade him if the Bruins won a Cup. They almost had enough talent and they had more than enough money and fan support to get the missing pieces.

Even though he made mistakes, I'll miss Bledsoe. That doesn't mean I will root for the Bills. I hope they suck so the Patriots get a good draft pick.

Boggs? Great Player, but hardly the guy who gets you over the top and into a championship.

Sele? Some very good regular season stats...but...what else? see above.

Bagwell? Bad Trade, but still the guy was in Triple AAA at the time. Remember, he was traded away in 1990 not '97.

hey franky.....my point is bad decisions.....

we have made some very bad decisions in teh past - saying people are either finished or are not going to be that big of an impact player in the future.

i'm not only talking about rings. seems like you are.

see where i am coming from? i can see where you are coming from....which i have no problem with....to each his/her own and we are all entitled to our opinion....

but - i would hate to see everyone (New England Patriots) fans get shot in the a$$ cause Brady blows up in our faces.

God I hope not.....Again, I said in my first post, I love the Pats....I always WILL....

oh man...as i type, i see Bledsoe and him holding the Bills Jersey with the owner right by his side.....just looks weird!

oh well. life will go on. I will continue to route for Bledsoe and the sucess for his team. However, the Bills are the enemy.....they are the enemy that always seem to play us tough and close!.....I hope Bledsoe goes 14-2 this year.....guess where the two losses come from?

It hurts for me to say it..... frown

Sorry Bro ! .... just kidding. I know a big fat zip about football so it doesn't mean a lot either way to me. It's got to be a kick in the nuts for Bledsoe though, all that time with the Pats, then a new kid comes in and they win the Bowl.

So please, take me off the sh@t list :p
