Has anyone here at CEG attempted to transplant the HomeLink (garage/gate opener) visor device from the Eddie Bauer and Limited Explorers into their Contour or Mystique? This radio frequency device is integrated into the sun visor. Is this possible? Any insight is appreciated.

It's jsut a module that reguires a 12V supply. I have one in my Lincoln. Not sure about carving up the sunvisor though. I would think the visor from the Contour might be a little thinner and not as accomodating.

Great idea though!

Chris,
Thanks for the reply. Is this module something that could be installed into our vehicles? Where can we get the power from? I will have more questions for you later.

Kris

My Lincoln has a constant voltage going to the HomeLink module no matter what state the ignition key is in. I would imagine it could be piped from anywhere, including the dome light. As far as where to get these modules, I would give Bill Jenkins at Sentry Auto a call (Check the Links section). Or your local Ford dealer and get a part number.

If you have to order the whole visor, a transplant should be fairly simple.
