Tough break, Mike (and others!). The economy has been more awful than the papers would have us believe, and it only got worse after the 'big event'. But things do seem to be picking up, for me at least (finally).
Here's a long shot, Carroll Design is a mechanical design service in Lowell. They are a good outfit, at least working with them from the outside. Check their page, not sure they're really still hiring but worth a shot:
