136 mph recorded at Brands Hatch Raceway.
Unrecorded 150mph+ at Brands

My speedo stops at 150 and was making weird ticking noises with the needle against the stop, shame it was during practice

Not bad for a Zetec!!!

138 indicated with plenty of headroom left over. As other's have mentioned on other threads, I think the normal speedo error for the SVT (as measured by GPS) adds a bit to the actual speed, so 138 indicated is probably something closer to 134, actual.

My stock Zetec automatic has barely enough oomph to reach the governor speed.

I've only done it once and at the time I had no idea what was going wrong with my engine -- it scared me pretty good for a minute. It felt like it had tried to shift to a nonexistent fifth gear or something.

You're crazy to take it up that high on I-90 between Rochester and Tonawanda!!!!! There are MANY cops patrolling that area. I rarely even take it over 85 unless I'm following someone. I did hit a triple digit that time going to Plattsburgh following a bunch of sport bikers though.

The OD didn't kick in until she hit 105. The only reason I slowed down, was because the nose started to lift off the ground.

I hate it when that happens.

120 on a 2 lane Highway racing an Acura Integra. Lost the race but the car handled well at that speed. Might need to lower the car alittle for better handling. I did this on the Taconic. It did well for a 4cyclinder car with no upgrads.. Got burned by the Acura.

Had my '96 LX (V6/ATX) up to 115 before I got nervous and stopped pushing my luck. I was amazed at how well it handled at that speed. It felt great!
