I need a good trustworthy shop in the local tristate area, or even anyplace within a few hours to install my heads, cams, lower intake manifold, injectors, LSD, clutch and flywheel...

I have been quoted some crazy prices, so if anyone has connections, or knows a good place, I'd really appreciate the info. I'm opting to get professional install for a few reasons, mainly, I do not have the tools to balance the 4 camshafts, plus I've never done any tranny work. Also, if a shop screws it up, they have to fix it...if I scrw up, I'm at a loss.

BTW I have a 1999 Cougar V6 MTX...

Current dyno: 172.9 whp with just bolt ons and stock exhaust manifolds (not gutted), oh, and bad wires smile...

I had my work done in the Norristown, PA area (somewhat along US 202 north of I-76).

I'll give you the trans shop info. They just did a tricky MTX-75 rebuild/LSD install. Everything cost $700. Labor was $350, machine shop for Quaife was $175, and parts was the rest (replaced some bearings to standard from off-spec rebuild bearings). They didn't pull the trans; that's included in the 3L.

My 'Tour is very fresh in their minds and they passed the "Terry Haines" quality test.

I'll ask my mechanic if he would ever want to work on a Contour again. If so, he has done a great job through the trials and tribulations of the 3 liter. He is very meticulous and won't half-a$$ anything. For example, he spotted the reused axle bolts (a no-no from a previous Ford Service experience), and used plumb lies to align the subframe due to a missing alignment cone of some sort. I'll post Tuesday if you are interested. $60/hr labor rate.

Hi, I too would like to know a good shop in New Jersey. Preferrably close to or in Monmouth County. Also, are any of those above mentioned PA shops close to the Hatfield/Landsdale/Horsham area?

From Hatfield/Lansdale/etc, you would shoot down PA 363 to Ridge Pike/Main Street (south of Germantown Pike). Go left for 1 - 2 miles for Dileo's, go right 5 mi or so for Dave's Transmissions.

sammy check out velocity motorsports on 206 in yardvile/bordentown...greg is a good guy...he doesnt do instals...but can get anything you want...

i dunno if you were looking for instals or not...but none the less...check him out
