Hey guys,
I've been looking on this site for a while and actually bought the car I have now thanks to the clasifieds here. I own a '95 Contour with all sorts of SVT ad ons... exhaust, sway bar, rims... and some lowering springs. I want to get some more power in this bad boy and I was wondering which intake would be the best... KKM? K&N? Other? Now I have tried to get some info on it around this site, and needless to say it's a little confusing. Can someone straighten it out? Thanks a lot... Kyle :-)

I have a KKM....so far so good. Some people claim better performance with different brands of filter. I dunno....put it this way, any open air filter will benefit you over your stock one. Once you get the air in, work on the exhaust to get that air out!

Hey Kyle,

Welcome to CEG !

For your Oil Filter...

K&N - HP-2010

I just got one installed and I've been using Mobil 1 for the last 10,000 miles.
Since I switched to the K&N Filter, I get absolutely NO NOISE on startup.
I used to get a little lifter tick for the very first second, until the pressure built up.
But with the K&N Filter, I don't even get that anymore.

Go for it !!!

You can hear your engine on start up?? confused mad confused

From what I've seen replacing the y-pipe is the best step to take first.

After that, I'd have to go with anything and everything to get more air into the engines. I've seen the biggest gains on the intake side, not on the exhaust side.
