I received a citation for 70mph in a 55 mph zone. Pleaded not guilty. Showed up with Tipmra in hand. Waiting 1hr. and 45min. No officer. Case dismissed with Prejustice. ADA said, "This is your lucky day. The officer didn't show up. This has never happened before." Yeah right. He ticketed 8 other people while I waited in court. I was not worth his time. Woohoo!

Swallow your pride now because 90% of the time it always lean toward the cop. All this guy/gal had to do is show up and you would have lost.

i got 1 of my 2 dismissed last week. the guy says to me: "the cop didn't like u too much did he?" i was like "probably not. why?" he states: "cause he gave you two tickets." i agreed and he said that i could drop one of my tickets. lucky...i guess. one was for speeding and the other was for not signaling. he said that he should give me one for trying to "evade" him, but he'll give me one for not signaling instead. i said thx and went on my way and fought it and i halfway won...

lucky b@stard In MA the cop doesn't have to show, because there is a representative there to speak for all the cops in all of the cases. Gee, guess that's why I NEVER get out of any speeding tickets...EVER.

My ticket was on SR 37 near Paoli Peaks. Tipmra is a defence for RADAR and pacing. The best according to most websites, and it includes all the information on the internet pay and non-pay for speeding tickets. Tipmra

Hey INdytour: I'm due in court next week for a speeding ticket, I don't suppose you could send a copy of that tipmra my way, could you? I'd really appreciate it. You can PM me or Email me at sideoftheroad@yahoo.com Thanks.

The next best thing to the cop not showing up at all (which happens more than a lot of people think) is him showing up early enough that you can pull him aside and politely plead your case as to why you shouldn't get a moving violation for this and yada yada. Now it's human to human instead of hunter and prey, and now you're dressed nice and shucking and jiving about how sorry you are to have made him spend his time on this but you have a clean record and so on. Chances are very good the cop will agree to recommend an amended charge as long as the judge agrees. This too works more often than the negativists will give it credit for. But if it doesn't, THEN you're sunk LOL...becuase the cop and the judge are on a first name basis and if the cop says you were speeding, you were speeding.

I got a ticket in Omaha, NE for 75 in a 60 zone. The guy was nice, becuase he clocked me at 78, not 75, which took $58 off the fine. Then I found out that I can take driver's ed course, pay $50 (instead of the $98), and it wont show up on my insurance. That's how I'm fighting the law... but I still have to drive 5 hours to Omaha (7 hours going the speed limit).
