What a day...something I hope to never go through again. Got to work to see the majority of my coworkers in the lunch room watching the footage on TV. Watched the second plane go in, the buildings collapse trying to console those who had friends and family at the World Trade Center.
Everyone in the office had either friends and family at the World Trade Center, including myself. What a feeling of complete helpessness we all felt.
Luckily, all my friends were ok. 1 took off of work today, 1 made it out after the first explosion. I had a friend, she's pregnant, so she didn't go to work...and one other friend who was able to get to the NJ Ferry, but not before getting trampled and losing her shoes.
I managed to get out of Manhattan by walking across the 59th street bridge. Something I have never seen before. Thousands upon thousands of people walking across the bridge, like refugees on a mass exodous.
My prayers go out to those who lost their lives and those that lost friends and family.
I cannot believe there is no more twin towers...gone...the tallest structures in NY,. So prominent...now all gone. Times are changing.
