I've mentioned this to some of the other Western NY members before - there is a cruise night in the Rochester area on Wednsday nights at the Log Cabin restaurant. Last night there were around 600 cars that showed (yes, 600). My Contour was the only one... I can give directions if anyone is interested.

I used to go to school at RIT and I still visit the area frequently. I'll actually be up there Wed the 27th this month. Just tell me where and what time and I'm there.

OK, the restaurant is in Macedon, which is actually east of Rochester proper. You guys from Buffalo - Take the Thruway (east, obviously ;)) and get off on the 2nd 490 exit, which will be the 3rd Rochester exit (490 starts south the thruway, loops up through Rochester, then goes back south of the thruway again, so it intersects it twice). Anyway, take 490W (you'll actually be headed north), get off at the 31F exit, and go east on 31F. You could potentially get off at the 1st 490 exit and go east to the 31F exit, but this will take you through downtown rush hour traffic. 31F will take you through the village of Fairport. Once on the other side of it, 31F hops left across the canal on the Turk Hill Rd bridge. After crossing the bridge, 31F takes a right turn at the 1st light you come to. After that it's pretty straight forward. You'll be on 31F for a total of, oh, 10 miles I'm guessing. The Log Cabin will be on the left hand side of the road, you absolutely will not miss it with all the cars about . 1HotWhip - I too went to RIT, now I work about 5 miles from campus, off of Paul Rd. If you want, I can meet you at RIT, say in the G lot or something, and you can follow me out there. I could be there about 5:00. Lemme know what you think.

HOLY CHRIST You just gave me the EXACT directions to get to my sisters house!!!
The only difference is that she lives at the top of turk hill road. (high street extension) Her husband is a phys ed teacher at Fairport (she is one at red level HS) He also coaches Lacrosse out that way.
Should be easy enough to find!
I will let ya know if I am coming out for sure... What time do the festivities usually get going?

Normally, I leave work about 5:00, meet my father on the way, and get out there in the 5:45-6:00 timeframe, depending on traffic. We often stay till 8:30 or so, depending on turn out, how long it takes to eat, etc. Sounds like you shouldn't have any issues finding the place at any rate. There are certainly enough Honduhs and DSMs that come out to this, that my Lone Contour has a hard time competing A gaggle of Tours would be right welcome in my book

I know how to get to Macedon because I got my old system done at Infinite Audio 6 years ago. I'll use the directions above to get there. I think that I've seen your car on campus before. Give me your cell number if you have one and I'll call you when I'm up there.

Sorry, no cell. I bought the car after I graduated, so I doubt you saw it on campus, unless it happened to be while I was visiting RIT's FSAE team (my company is one of their sponsors).
Anyway, I was thinking that it would be cool if we could arrange one way or another to get a group of Contours to drive in together...

I guess the term "cruise night" is a bit a misnomer...any place I've seen that applied actually, it actually meant that it was an informal car show at a restaurant. People show up, park, go eat, then walk around looking at everyone else's rides. There are a number of people that make a spectical leaving, with tyres squealling and rubber burning, but that's as close to "cruising" as actually happens. Are there places where people actually cruise around?
