I cn understand that, but these guys are not an outside valet service. They are club employees and they drive the car no more than 1/10th of a mile and we can see it.
Heck 3 of them are retirees.

i only get noticed by "car people". no one knows what the car is, they just know it is different in some way.

I can't say that I ever noticed ANYONE ever looking at my car, or other contours for that matter. 90% of the people I have talked too, give me a blank look when I mention SVT. The look at it and see a Taurus or a Contour.

I have people look, or say "THAT is a contour?" when I show them. I haven't cleaned my car in quite a while  so I don't get noticed much anymore. But, the other day I was rolling along on the beltway when a chick riding in a new Mercedes was rolling by and I could see her studying my car really hard. I was beginning to worry that there might be something wrong, then I read her lips as she says to the guy driving, "oh, its a Contour." He still had the dealer plates on his car, so I thought it was pretty cool my dirty little SVT still got noticed by someone test driving a new Benz.

My car gets noticed - NEVER! No one knows what the heck it is. For example, I am thinking of selling it and my wife likes the older 300Z cars. So, I went with her to this little place (We drove our Pathfinder) to look at one. This salesman asks me what I want to trade. I told him a 99 SVT Contour. How much do you want? Oh, around 13 to 14k. He looks at me and says "I think that we have one of those cars here, and I am only asking 3995" Thats when his little buddy starts laughing at me in his Mexican accent. I immediately demanded to see this "SVT". He shows me a piece of crap white 98 SE V6 with the nastiest looking wheels on it, 111k miles on it and no stereo. Dents and rust all over it. "This is the top of the line Contour, loaded" is what he tells me. I just shook my head and left...
I had to vent that story, my wife is tired of me complaining about it to her.
