Hi Guys,

Well, it?s finally done. Got the SVT exhaust installed on my 99 Mystique. It looks and sounds great. Special thanks to Paddy for selling me the complete system and Chris Wong for his installation advise. JPG did an excellent job!

Speaking of which, for anyone about to attempt the same procedure. This is not a simple bolt on process. It turns out the shape of the gas tank in my 99 Myst. is slightly different from that of the SVT. The box section of the exhaust that goes around the tank and joins to the Y-pipe needs to be adjusted. In my case the guys at JPG formed a new section of 2.25? pipe just aft of the resonator to the Y-pipe junction. On the SVT the corner angle of the pipe is alittle less than 90 degrees, or maybe its bang on. On the Myst. it needs to be opened up alittle to clear the corner of the gas tank. Hence the new section being formed. It?s not a long procedure but it does add extra $$ if you?re on a budget like me. But the completed exhaust is worth it. Also note, a few extra hangers have to be welded in place to support the new pipes. I think this is normal for anyone moving from a single to a quasi-dual setup.

Over all I?m very please with the result. The car has alittle more of a bite to it. Sounds alittle deeper and my seat of the pants dyno indicates a slight gain in performance. Because it is a stock piece, I?m guessing only a modest 5-7 hp increase in power but it really adds style to the car. Its not too loud, same as a stock SVT. More rumble at idle but not to imposing. I retained the Ford resonator and mufflers. As more work gets done to the car, perhaps I?ll switch over to a 2.50? setup. You never know.

Cheers!
