The recall end date is August 2003. ASS!
Mine wasn't a problem till a few months ago and by then they put the repairs on hold until the new kit came out.

It does not matter if he got his fixed before or after the august date. The dealers were doing this repair on cost. They would rather use the fix instead of replacing a whole dash. So next time my friend STFU and stop spewing garbage. -Antonio

The preoccupation with rear ends here is unusual. MY guess is "post" traumatic stress disorder, after the close call of loosing the CEG???

I got the new black plastic thing too, I hate it, AND my dealer did a bad job of putting it on, and it spews black plastic shavings every time my defroster is on
It's all about balance.

I am so glad I have a close tie to my car dealer. My dash was replaced and if my dealer had done anything less I would have made sure he knew I had bought my last car from them. Instead he has a happy customer planning on making his next car purchase from his "Trusted " dealership.

I would think you might have a few connections at your job?
