The opinions of CEG'rs of "res/no res" seems to be about 50/50. IT is a definite difference in sound, a slightly deeper tone.. Not ricey, IMO, but deeper... However the preference seems to waiver, depending on what you want, sound or performance. Those on the opposite side of that 50/50 seem to side with the fact that there hasn't been any proven performance enhancements. Note: I said "PROVEN", not to be confused with "THERE ISN'T". There may very well be, though nobody has (To my knowledge) dyno'ed and posted.. Do you want sound, or are you more of a performance oriented individual? It is all a matter of taste, when it comes down to it..

W/O the resonator you definitely get more rasp! [/b]I concur. It's not ricey, just raspy when cold, and you get drone at certain RPMs.

drone is what you hear when you stumble upon a beehive.. or a riceboy's 3 inch chrome exhaust.

rasp is where it sounds sort of choppy at rpm, this only happens for me in my neighborhood... usually by the time i get out on to the main road, the rasp is gone. imo, the sound at idle is deep, agressive, very bada$$. the roar at startup definitely gets some attention, especially in a garage, like when i started it up in the discount tire garage, everyone kinda went- "what the hell was that?" From outside the car at speed, it has hints of rice, but not NEARLY that loud, annoying, or bee-fartish. My opinion, TAKE IT OUT!!! If you have the money, i've heard that throwing on a hi-flow resonator or muffler or something helps, but I was trying to stay cheap, Midas straight-piped it for me and I think it sounds GREAT!
