Even the interior of the Pontiac is nicer than the Mystique. The shifter in the Mystique is too high, the radio is too small, the switches have a "cheap" feel to them, but hey, this was only a 19K car, you can't work miracles!
How bout rereading the posts. Most people find the contique interiors to be nice, though the plastic is cheap. They are talking about how nice the set up is, and they all like the contour's interior. I like my contour's interior, except for the broken plastic. I drove somebody's mustang and the inside just wasn't cool with me, though my mom's civic is okay.

I was real disappointed with the SVT lacking a voltmeter. First car I had that didn't have one, I miss it.

98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....

My 6000 has every guage Ive seen, volts, oil pressure, and everything's digital smile it even has a picture of a car on the dash with warnings (passenger side low-beam headlamp lights up if passenger-side low-beam is burned out, front drivers side tire lights up if front drivers side tire is low) all that good stuff! The little car thingy shows if doors are open, tires are low, engine is running badly, trunk is open, the ergonomics in that car are great too. Although Im not used to the "pull twice" headlamp switch, or the separate fog lamp switch. The radio is a little far away, but it has the radio controls on the wheel, so that's really not an issue laugh about the ONLY bad things about that car are BAD gas milage, and it makes wide turns. But the interior is real nice, lots to look at on the dash at night laugh

Why? I had a voltmeter in my other two cars and it helped me none. I went through 4 batteries in my jeep and 2 in my buick.

Yeah.....Right!!!! By the way, just what button are you referring to as I am having a hard time finding ANY buttons in my tour?

i like the G20 interior layout well enough, but i think the Contour's is definitely better. Easier to read. Volvo has to be the most confusing setup i have ever seen. Especially the HVAC. My old Monte was the ultimate worst. the stereo/HVAC controls were well out of arm's reach.

the best single control on VW/Audi is the sunroof switch. turn the knob 1/4 and the glass opens 1/4. turn the knob all the way and the glass opens all the way. ingenious!

in addition, i actually really like the layout on my MG. the HVAC knobs are on either side of the steering wheel and are right on front. i just wish my speedometer worked!!!

Double negative... anyways, What about the Mustang?? For my entire life I've thought that the Mustang has an INCREDIBLY cheap interior for a car of its caliber. I mean, 25-30k for a V8 GT convertible, or whatever they run now, and you get the 94 escort dash!

I do realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I, would have to say that I believe the Contour (my SE style anyways), is above average, but one thing I would like to try adding, is I would like to replace all the black plastic panels everywhere (including around pwr window switches, shifter trim, heater controls, instrument cluster, and all), and put on those dark woodgrain finished panels. I seen those in my friends BMW, and they look sweet! I have a link on my other computer at home, that is for a company that specializes in making these wood finish panels for every popualar kind of car out there. They ARE kind of spendy though. Maybe when I get my next tax return, I will go for the conversion on my tour, to get rid of the cheap plastic look smile

I was thinking of getting the wood too. But that way I think their would be toooo much wood. My moms BMW has wood in the interior, but not too much. A strip along the dash, a little in between the seats, in the sides of the shift knob, and a little on the doors. That's about it. I dont like all the plastic in the Mystique, but I think that if all that were wood, it would be overkill on that too. You'd need to have a good balance, and I havent found any kits that have I like.
