Well I wnet to 3 separte dealerships to look at the rust on my car and none of them will do anything. Since my car is just past the 60000km limitation for paint/rust protection (My car just rolled over 67k) my car now falls under the rust perforation guarantee. So now the only way they will fix anything is if my hood, or anyother panel completely rusts through. Now I feel completely SHAFTED by Ford and even thier SVT dealerships. The car has hardly seen any driving this last winter and the same can go for the last one as well. I even have service records showing the milage and how little the car has been driven in the last year (probably 12-15k km at the most! maybe even less).

I am planning on contacting Ford and SVT directly to try and have some action taken since the type of rust forming to me is clearly a factory F-up. and I plan on including the numerous unsatifacotry servicings I have recieved from 2 separtate dealerships in any complaint I file.

If any of yo have any suggestions to hep my cause please contibute. Take a look at my other post (My car is rusting) and help me build my case. In thae past I have had a flat tire and a dent put in my car by one dealership and at the same time they did not replace something they too pff the car. I have had parts ordered, never called when they came in and even had the part go missing when it came in (02 sensor and IMRC cable). I have had my paint scratced by the dealer when replacing something that I had not given authorization for and even had the dealer go back on a promise to fix something if it became an issue which was made when the car was purchased. I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting

Afer all of this I hate all dealerships and even feel like selling my car becuase of the lack of service I have recieved from any dealer. I completely believe that Ford should be covering the bill to fix this rust and need advice on how to go about it. I have the Ford Customer service number but if anyone has the number for SVT please let me know.

If you want yo can check out my orignal post here.

Thanks

Hey man
I would go to your home dealership and complain to their customer satisfaction rep. Threaten to take it to Arbitration. CAMVAP is a third party mediation group that ford is a member of. Its all in the owners manual. Usually the dealer does not want to have that happen, due to negative publicity

I like your style. I didn't go to Markville ford since I have suck bad experiences there. Maybe I should give them one more chance to redeem themselves and then release the beast if they really piss me off.

Thanks for the ideas...hopefully it won't have to go that far.

Oh Markville
I hate those guys...
I had to deal with my dealership and they hooked me up with that info.

Also tell them that you want to talk to the District Operating Manager(aka DOM). They have a lot more power with Ford themselves.

If you still having issues.. Hit me a PM on NECO and I will take u down to my dealership. They are really good.

Evan,

Everything in life is negotiable. Don't let anyone tell you any different.

I had a problem with the drivers seat in my car rocking back and forth during accel/decel when I first got it last spring. It was a couple of months out of warranty and through some persistance I got Donway Ford to pay for most of the $400 repair. I only covered $50. It wasn't easy but I did it. I'll drop you a line later on in the week when I have some time and come see your ride and tell you more then.

As far as CAMVAP is concerned, go to their website and they have statistics on what kind of claims have been made and their outcome. It may give you an idea if it is worth it or not to pursue. As far as FORD and SVT is concerned, put all of your communications in writing and keep records of names, dates etc. The more information you have the better you will be able to proceed if you go with CAMVAP. Unfortunately we live in Canada and have to deal with rust on our cars. I know yours may be premature but sometimes we just get the wrong car that was built at the wrong time. I know it is frustrating. Good luck.

I took my car to a non-SVT dealer the other day and showed them the tiny spider cracks under the clearcoat which is obvisously the result of a bad factory job. It has 108,000km on it and is an E1.

The car goes in to have hood, trunk, and roof repainted on Monday and Ford will pay exactly half. They're taking it right down to the metal so it's done right. Incredible! So yes, everything is negotiable. I was told at the time of my negotiating that there is never any issue getting Ford to pay half if the car is under 80,000km and four years old.

Good luck!
