Sorry to hear about your rust... I have a 1995 Mystique (208xxxkms) that has been Krowned yearly. The only rust I have is on the weld seam on the inner part of the hood. The hood was replaced with a new/used hood after a racoon decided to fall out of a tree. I have noticed, looking at newer 98+ Tours and Tiques rust along the inner door seams and trunk lids. A friend of mine has a 96 Contour with over 14xxxxkms and he has never had it Krowned, no rust... I hope Ford will fix your problem. This may not be relevant, but my previous car,a Topaz started rusting about a year and a half after it was purchased, it wasn't krowned.

I recently found bubbling paint and a little bit of rust on my silver 98 CSVT, under the driver's side mirror housing and under the window weather seals/strips.

Once I do my spring cleaning, I'm going to take it to the dealers' and see if they'll kick in some goodwill towards a little cosmetic work.

Otherwise, my Dad's 1994 Chrysler seems to have better paint...

Seams under hood, eh?
Well, could be worse.

Since I plan to keep my car for a whiiiile, even if I have to replace a hood or a driver's side door that's rotting out, I won't mind too terribly.

What truly scares me is the replacement cost of SVT specific parts for our high strung motors.

LOL gee I wonder what kind of mischief I should get into today. Hmmmm that hood looks rather inviting.

My `96 is sitting at 104K and the only rust on it is on the rear subframe. That will go away this summer. smile
