I was checkin out some tires at Canadian Tire and found a great deal. They are dropping the Pacemark line they have. The Pacemark G/T is an ok tire. I had it on a previous car.

In 205/55/16 they are about $127 regular, on special clearance at $76. Not a bad deal if you need some tires for a set of 16's and don't have a lot to spend.

Only drawback, is that they will only have what is in stock to sell. They won't bring them in.

Thought someone might like to know.

Cheers,

CM.

I had Turbo Lazer +4HRs on my old 5L. All four experienced failure. They told me it was my fault for driving too fast?! WTF - the tyres were speed rated for way beyond legal limits and they told me at Crappy Tire I would have had to have driven at those speed constantly for at least an hour to have deformed the tyres.

What a load of crap! I bought brand name tyres from the Wheel Rack and have never had a problem. And this time I have a "Z" speed rating. laugh

I'd never let my car go into a Crappy Tire again. I go there for tools, small appliances and other such things. Those twits tried to void my warranty with no proof and in doing so lost a customer who's spent tens of thousands at other places instead.

Perhaps they should have just realized I had four defective tyres and given me some of that pro-rated warranty money back. Oh well, after those I picked up a set of Goodyear GT+4s that lasted years (same as Turbo Lazer +4's) with no "high-speed" delamination.

I heard that Crappy Tire is selling some nice looking rims, since its part of their rice campaign  , though they look really nice are they any good? or will they bend on the first bump?

Really depends on what they are made of.

Steel wheels will bend; when that happens depends on the strength of the steel. They can usually be repaired but it's often cheaper to replace them.

Cast rims (aluminum) will bend a little but usually snap when they do. Cast rims are what we have stock on our cars. I've fixed one that I bent when a tyre went flat. It is often cheaper to try to repair these if the bend isn't too bad.

Forged rims (aluminum) don't bend, they snap. My Mille Miglia summer wheels are forged. They are expensive, but light. These can never be repaired.

They have quite a variety of rims from different manufacturers in their rice catologue. Some of them are reputable, some are questionable.
