Just wondering if anyone in the GTA has had any experiance in the Solo 1&2 classes with their contour or any other car?
Looking for some feedback on these events and what they are like, the atmosphere etc.
Thanks

Used to do some with our Talon. In summer 2000 my brother did the solo series with BAC (Burlington Automotive Club). There was another SVT that raced then as well...not sure how he did...but he's onto other things now....
I'm goignt to be hitting up all of the lapping days at Shannoville on the long weekends...you should join me.
Oh yeah...forgot good lap times = quaife
If you thought yours was bad a tthe track you should come for a ride in mine now

Evan,
The track days sound good, but I am looking for some competition on the track, thats why I'm leaning towards the Solo series. Were you in One or Two?
I would like to see a car that is worse then mine on wheel spin. Is yours lowered? Does that help at all? Anyone?
I heard that the price on the LSD was recently lowerd to around $500US. Time for a group buy maybe Chris W?

It was solo 1 my brother was running in the Talon. The nice thing about the open lapping days is it allows you virtually unlimited laps so that you can refine your technique so that when you go out and compete you'll do better. When you compete in solo 1 you get a few warmup laps and then your timed ones. The thing is I've only hit the track once with my SVT and just want to work out all the bugs before I compete

Solo II will eat your tires like mad. I'm not sure about Solo I because I've never done it. Last summer, I only did 3 races because on the 3rd race, I torn the treads off the front tires completely.

What kind of tire's were they? Were they new one's? If they had full tread depth when you started that may explain it.

Those were Bridgestone Potenza RE71 225/50/15. I bought them used from Brad Noon, and he had dragged with those tires before. They had about 1/2 threads left when I did the autocross. But after that one autoX, it was down to the wear bar! Originally posted by timeless420: What kind of tire's were they? Were they new one's? After just reading my post , it looks kinda negative.. I'm just joking around @ you will find that autoxing will be the most fun you can have with your car.... just beware of that hooking bug or you will be buying extra race tires etc. sean
