So i just bought new rims for the car, and a friend of mine has offered to swap his focus rims (16) for my stock wheels, i figured this is not a bad idea as my tires only have 50% tread and his have about 95, PLus i can make some money off the deal and get better winter tires to deal with the snow. So i have two quesitons, will his rim and tire combo fit my car, and how much should i charge for my rims. They are the old style cobra look alike rims with a few scratches here and there, the tires are the firestones with what looks to be about 40 to 50% wear. Any help would be great. Before we can really tell you yes/no, we need to know what you're driving now (year/model/aftermarket wheels), tire size on the rims you have now, and tire size on the focus rims. I know that the Focus SVT rims are a good fit on Contours although the offset is like 2mm off (I think). Good thinking about switching.

The set i would give to him are my oe 98 svt contour rims, and the rims i would be buying are the 16in oe stokc focus wheels, (i couldnt find the tire size)

Your SVT tire size is 205/55/16. His is 205/50/16, meaning that your speedometer will be -3.2% off ( Tire size calculator ) Confirm somewhere that the offset is very close to 42mm (stock SVT). My wheels have 38mm offset and they rubbed until I "persuaded" the fenders out of the way. Your bolt pattern on SVT is 4x108 (4 bolts, 108 degrees). Confirm that the focus wheels are the same. Heck, call Tire Rack and ask as if you were going to buy.
